Houlton, Maine - Yvon G. Levesque, 93, passed away February 25, 2026, in Houlton. He was born on October 25, 1932, in Winterville, ME. He was the son of Louis and Antoinette (Cyr) Levesque.
Yvon grew up in Winterville and attended St. Francis prep school in Biddeford, ME, before starting his working career with the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Japan on the island of Shumshu at the communication center during the Korean War. After completing his tour in the army he returned home and continued working for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad until his retirement at the age of 55. On April 17, 1971, he married Ruth (Bulmer) Chambers. Yvon served as a Communicant of St. Mary Of The Visitation Church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1876 & Assembly 2086 in Houlton. He was also a dedicated member of Rockabema Lodge #78 IOOF. He loved to travel visiting England, France, and British Columbia Canada. He also loved fishing, gardening and woodworking. Most importantly he enjoyed being with family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Ruth; brothers, Patrick and Lucien; and his son, Ronald. Yvon is survived by his son, Rudy and wife, Anita Levesque, of Linneus, ME; daughters, Judith Faulkner of Montclair, VA, and Juliette Cottle and husband, Charles, of Winterport, ME; stepchildren, Peter Chambers and wife, Claudette, of Kingston, NH, Linda Charbonneau and husband, Butch, of Newton, NH, and Richard Chambers of Orono ME; brothers, Norman and wife, Annette, of MA, Richard and wife, Theresa, of NH; and sister, Thelma Guerin of MA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and nine great-stepgrandchildren.
The family would like to give sincere thanks to Ann Merritt, Shelley McAfee and Susan Dimick, who provided homecare for our dad which allowed him to remain in his home.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 10-11 a.m. May 9, 2026, at Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Visitation Church, 110 Military St., Houlton. The Rite of Committal will be held immediately following Mass. Those attending are invited to share conversation and refreshments in the Parish Hall following interment.
