Brunswick, Maine - William H. Parker, 84, of Brunswick, ME, died peacefully on May 30, 2018. A true gentleman with a wry sense of humor, his son called him a great wingman. He was his daughter's biggest fan. His granddaughter remembers him outfitting her first toolbox and supporting her solo cross-country road trips, giving her a sense of confidence she will always treasure. His wife Jean recalls the gentle spirit of the dashing young pilot who showed her the world.

Born on December 15, 1933, in Youngstown, OH, to Ann Bence and Paul Parker, Bill was raised in Milford, CT. He graduated Milford High School, enlisted in the Air Force, received a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and degrees from Ricker College and UMPI. After retiring, he sailed home from Southeast Asia aboard his beloved yacht Phantom II named after his favorite jet, the Phantom IV. He built a home for Jean in Northeast Harbor, became an accomplished woodworker and had a second career delivering yachts.

Bill was a member of the BMW Riders of Southern Maine. He and his son traveled to Europe several times to go riding, including a trip to Croatia to find Bill's grandparents' home village. They traveled across the United States, too, avoiding more than one speeding ticket when cops discovered they were a father/son traveling pair.

Generous with his family, he made friends easily and lived a full, exciting life.

For all of his accomplishments, Bill Parker was a humble, modest man.

He was predeceased by a sister, Marlene White.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wilma Gene (Jean) Morris Parker, his son, Fredrick (Fritz) Parker and his wife, Cheryl, of Waterboro, ME, a daughter, Lisa Parker and her husband, Erik Grove, of Parsonsfield, ME, his granddaughter, Sarah Dompkowski of Los Angeles, CA, a brother, Paul Parker II and his wife, Kyle, of Mentone, AL, a sister, Tila Luschin and her husband, Rich, of Chardon, OH, and many nieces and nephews.
