Corinna, Maine - William "Bill" Roy Gallagher, 74, of Corinna, Maine, passed away amidst family on October 2, 2025. Born on July 23, 1951, in Douglas, Massachusetts, Bill was the son of the late John Gallagher and Eunice Moffit.
Bill graduated from Nokomis High School in 1970 and began his working career as a supervisor at Eastland Woolen Mill. In 1982, he established Gallagher's Auto, which he proudly operated until his retirement in 2023. Always deeply committed to his community, Bill was a volunteer firefighter, an active member of the Shriners in Corinna, and served as president of Sunshine Village for many years.
On September 12, 1993, Bill married Joyce, his beloved partner in life. He was a devoted husband, father, and brother, remembered for his kindness, generosity, and selflessness. Bill found great joy in bartering and trading his skills to help anyone in need, demonstrating his boundless compassion.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill loved hunting, fishing, and camping at his family's third-generation lodge in Brighton, Maine. He also enjoyed bike riding, cooking, card games like poker and cribbage, watching football, and relaxing with classic television shows. Above all, he cherished time spent cooking and grilling for family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Rodney (Catherine) Page, Sandy (Mike) Gamblin, Angela Wark, Amy (Jason Grenier); special nephew, David Call; niece, Karen Tunks; longtime friend, John Fowler; and many beloved grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Andrew Gallagher; brother, John Gallagher; and sister, Jane Call.
A celebration of life will be held at the Corinna VFW for family and friends on Sunday, October 19, from 12-3 p.m.
