Brownville Junction, Maine - William Joseph Dean Sr., lovingly known as Joe, passed away January 20, 2026, at the age of 57. Joe lived life with grit, determination, and a sense of humor that stayed with him until the end.

Joe was an avid outdoorsman who felt most at home in the woods or by the water. He loved hunting and fishing, especially when he could share those adventures with his brothers, Donnie and Bub. You could usually find him with a Natty Light in his hand, a dog by his side, and a story that got better each time it was told. Above all, Joe was a devoted father to his two children, Ashlee and Joey, whom he loved very much. He was also a proud grandfather to many grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and plenty of reasons to smile. Joe had a way of making people laugh, feel welcome, and appreciate the simple things in life.

Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila; and his mother, Betty, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms - and likely kept him in line. He leaves behind a family who will miss him deeply and remember him always, with love, laughter, and a few good outdoor stories. He is survived by his father, Ronald; brother; Bub and wife, Tracy; children: Alexandra, Victoria, and Hunter; brother; Donnie and wife, Malinda; son, Jed; his daughter, Ashlee and partner, Kevin; son, Joey and wife, Sarah; as well as many grandchildren: JD, Lorelei, Elijah, Autumn, and Lily.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
