Harrington, Maine - Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Walter C. Brown Jr., was born into eternal life on June 30, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on August 1, 1937, in Waltham, MA, Walter spent his final years enjoying the beautiful view of the Harrington River in Downeast Maine from his Ocean Spray cabin with his dog and devoted companion, Bud.

He will be remembered for his steadfast commitment to his family, gentle nature, twinkling blue eyes, mechanical know-how, and sharp sense of humor. He was a precision machinist by trade, an honorably discharged army reservist, an avid reader of history, collector of railroad memorabilia and jazz enthusiast. Walter also shared a keen interest in family genealogy with his son, Stephen, and was a die-hard Bruins fan who watched every game, reviewing the highlights between periods by phone with his brother-in-law, John.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Anestis) Brown, in 2015. He leaves behind his devoted children, Lauren Brown Gagnon and husband, Marc, of Amesbury, MA, and his son, Stephen Walter Brown and wife, Tricia, of Cherryfield, ME; his treasured grandchildren, Paige and Joshua Gagnon, Betsey and husband, Mike Benner, Reese and husband, Gabriel Doughty; and the most recent addition to his legacy and the apple of his eye, his great-grandson, Silas Stephen Brown-Benner; and many extended family members and friends.

He will be greatly missed.
