Victory A. Todd

Garland - Victory A. Todd, 76, died August 9, 2019, after a brief illness.
This is the story of Vicki, a wonderful woman who was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Our "Nana," as she liked to be called by her grandchildren, was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. Victory Starr Farrin, born on March 13, 1943, in Harmony, Maine, the daughter of the late Lyman C. and Myrtie A. (Foss) Farrin, graduated from Harmony High School in 1961, a class of only twelve, and in 1962 earned an LPN license from Maine School of Practical Nursing. Vicki married Herman B. Allen in 1962 and had two children: Victory "Tory" Glenar and Faron "Bud" Allen. After living a brief time in South Carolina, they moved to Garland, Maine, and purchased the Garland General Store. After Herman's death in 1975, Vicki became postmaster and remained owner of the store. In 1980 she married Thomas Todd of Charleston, Maine, father to Holly and Kimberly Todd.
She enjoyed crafts, gardening, hunting and fishing with friends. Vicki had a great capacity to care for and support the "underdog." Her positive energy and ability to love and forgive were on constant display throughout her life. She was known for her ease in frequent conversation with total strangers. She deeply loved her ten grandchildren and instilled in them a zest for life and a commitment to others.
Vicki is survived by her husband of 39 years, Thomas Todd; their family: Tory, Bud and wife, Julie, Holly, and Kimberly; her brother, Ron, wife, Georgie and family; her sister, Jayne, husband, Steve and family; in-laws: Debra Fontaine, husband, Edward, Barbara Drake, husband, Louis and family, Donovan Todd, wife, Cindy and family, and Decker Todd; grandchildren, Braden, Calvin, Mary, Noah, Ben, Sarah, Brianna, Nola, Katherine and Stephen; special friends, Anna Bragg, Tim and Carolyn O'Donnell, Kirsten Domenech and family; and Gladys Ducharme and family.
Vicki will be laid to rest Saturday, August 24, at 10 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Campbell Road, Garland, Maine. Following the graveside services, the family invites you to a celebration of her life at Garland Town Office, 108 Corinth Road, Garland, Maine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to: The Victory Scholarship Fund, Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 233, Dexter, ME 04930.

Hadn't seen Vicki in a very long time but cannot ever forget the kind and tireless lady from whom, along with Hermie, we rented the apartment over the store in the early 70s. We always kept up with her through relatives and friends in Garland and can see why she will be sorely missed. We offer our condolences to her family and friends and hope that you all can lean on one another for support in your time of need. May Vicki rest in eternal peace.

So sad she was a amazing lady, always there when someone needed her, even if it was a call, gonna miss those, and the letter's or card to cheer you up. She was more then a resident of this town she was a peice of history. She knew so much about the town and liked to share it with us all. She always asked how my kids were everytime I spoke with her. She had a huge heart. You will be missed but not forgotten. Hope she's behaving herself up there with those trouble makers Norm and Aunt Louise. Till we meet again my friend. So sorry for all the families loss.
