Palmyra, Maine - Thomas Carlton Schmidt passed away peacefully at home on October 14, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on September 15, 1965, Thomas lived a life marked by devotion to family, a love for football, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
He was predeceased by his parents, Willette and Robert Schmidt; his son, Shawn McClure; his brothers, Frankie and Ronnie Brown; and his sister, Pauline Brown. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who survive him. Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Hicks; and his cherished children, Amanda Schmidt, Savannah Cronin, Willette Schmidt, Emily Nelson and her wife, Alyssa, Miranda Schmidt and her fiance, Edwardo, and Jacqueline McClure. He was a proud grandfather to Quincy McClure, Jayvian Washburn, CJ Washburn, Avery Nelson, Eli Nelson, Emerson Pacheco, Alexander Pacheco, Patrick Cronin and James Cronin. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Dearborn, Lillie Brown, Helena Boyd and her husband, Ronald, Shiela Schmidt, and Willette Schmidt Kirk and her husband, Bob; and his brothers, Richard Young and his wife, Barbara, and Robert Brown and his wife, Lucille. Thomas was deeply loved by many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Thomas found joy in the simple pleasures of life - watching football on Sundays, spending time with his loyal dog, Bubba, enjoying a game of bingo or time spent at the casino, and being surrounded by the warmth of family. His legacy is one of kindness, strength, and unconditional love. He will be missed beyond measure and remembered with deep affection by all who knew him.
