Medway, Maine - Thomas Dale Coon, 63, passed away on May 31, 2020, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, after a courageous battle with complications from COVID 19. He was born October 5, 1956 in Millinocket, Maine, the son of Glenwood and Maxine (York) Coon.

Tom graduated from Schenck High School in 1975, after which he served in the United States Coast Guard. Tom was an Allagash Ranger, retiring after 25 years. It was during that time that he earned the nickname, "The Rogue Ranger." Tom was extremely proud of the job he did and the many friends he made along the way. Tom and Jo attended the United Methodist Church in Mattawamkeag. Tom enjoyed hosting get togethers for family and friends every chance he could. He was a wonderful gardener and cook. In recent years he was a volunteer driver for Penquis Transportation.

Tom was an avid outdoor sportsman. He was a Registered Maine Guide, went on many moose hunts, loved deer hunting, fishing, fiddleheading, and just taking a scenic canoe ride up the East Branch of the Penobscot River brought him enjoyment. Tommy and Jo loved to travel around the New England States and Canada. He was always busy and was the life of any celebration. Tom was a tough guy who would tell it like it is, but left no doubt in anyone's mind that he had a heart of gold! The world will not be the same without him in it.

Tom is survived by his beloved life partner, Jolayne DiCentes; son, Brady Coon; daughters, Jade (Tyler) Richards and Julie (Scott) Leighton; granddaughters, Kate-Lynn (Kolby) Gallagher, Kiara Michaud (Ben), the apple of her Bampie's eye, great granddaughter, Adalynn Jade Gallagher; brothers, John (Karen) Coon, Steve (Rebecca) Coon, and Peter (Donna) Coon; sisters-in-law, Peggy (Maurice) Leach, Glenna Derrick; brother-in-law, Lawrence (Lee) Farrell; many special nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Tom was predeceased by his mother and father, Glenwood and Maxine Coon. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
