St. David, Maine - Therese D. Cote, 93, peacefully passed away August 31, 2024, at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born in St. David, a daughter of the late Levite and Bertha (Cyr) Hebert.
She was raised on a potato farm along with her three brothers and three sisters. After meeting the love of her life, she and Aurele married in 1956, and together they owned and operated a potato farm with their growing family. Therese was a longtime member of Ladies of St. Anne and Daughters of Isabella, where she was awarded Mother of the Year in 1999. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and instrumental in putting on funeral buffets at St. Gerard Church. Therese enjoyed playing cards, quilting, gardening and canning.
She is survived by seven children, Michael (significant other, Divina), Karen (Ernest) Bowling, Kenneth (fiancée, Noemi), Dennis (Tammy), Steven (Tammy), James (Ivy), and Mark (April); twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Therese was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Aurele Cote, in 2009; and six siblings.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at St. Gerard Church, Main St., Grand Isle. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114-10th Ave., Madawaska. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
