Albion and Brownville, Maine - Theodore Bessey Sr. was born June 13, 1943, in Waterville, ME, to John and Mable Bessey. He went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2025, at the age of 82, with his loving wife of 64 years, Eva, by his side.

Ted was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, ME, from 1960 to 1964. He spent two years in the Maine Air National Guard as a security specialist. Throughout the years he held many jobs. He owned and operated Brevard Security Company. He was also a pastor, as well as working with youth groups. Ted was also a member of Albion Fire Department, as well as serving as Albion Town Constable.

Ted and Eva raised six children, Ted Jr. and wife, Dale, of East Newport, David Sr. and wife, Betsy, of Brownville, John and wife, Patricia, of Newport, Rosaleen and husband, Phillip Dow Jr., of Palermo, Yvonne and husband, Steve Carter, of Whitefield, and Everett of Brownville. Ted had 18 grandchildren that called him papa, and was predeceased by one granddaughter and two grandsons. He had 17 great-grandchildren, and was predeceased by one great-grandson.

There will be a private family interment at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta on Friday, August 8, 2025. A celebration of life is planned following the interment for all to attend and share stories at 2:30 p.m. at the Albion Fire Station, 15 Benton Road, Albion, ME.
