Bangor - Theodore "Ted" Delano Rudnicki, 86, died August 8, 2019. He was born March 31, 1933, in Bangor, to Albin Rudnicki and Pauline (Zolenski) Rudnicki.
Ted met and fell in love with Juliette "Julie" Beland shortly after graduating from Bangor High School, and the two married on June 2, 1956. Ted served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, and later worked at Maine Test Borings, retiring in 1998.
Ted prided himself on his home and family. With the help of his father, Ted built the house where he and Julie raised their six children. He was a Maine Troop Greeter and an avid golfer. He traveled the country on his motorcycle with Julie, and lovingly built furniture and keepsakes for his family and friends in his spare time.
He is predeceased by his mother and father, and his sister, Johanna Hill.
Surviving are his wife, Julie, and his children, daughter Deborah and husband Roger Applegate; daughter Catherine and ex-husband Marvin Preyer; son Gerard and wife Melanie; daughter Susan and husband John Mullins; son Anthony and wife Shelley Rudnicki; and daughter Lucille Rudnicki-Sevigny and partner Don Clark; grandchildren, Paul Preyer, Ginette Seamans, Alicia Bane, Marcus Preyer, Julie McDade, Anthony Rudnicki II, Shelby Rudnicki, Maya Sevigny, and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Marion Rudnicki, Felicia Wiswell, Karl Rudnicki, Pauline Neville, Frances Beland, Rosalia Adams, Helena Bosse, James Rudnicki, and A. John Rudnicki, and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, August 14, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John's Catholic Church, 217 York Street, Bangor. Relatives and friends to invited to share conversation, lunch and refreshments in the parish hall following the Mass. An extended obituary is available at

When we think of Ted we will always picture him with a smile. He would always go out of his way to speak to us no matter where we met up with him. We didn't see him often but we will miss him. You are all in our prayers.
