Webster Plantation - Theo Emma (Dill) Jipson was born on December 1, 1928 and passed away peacefully on October 6, 2019. Theo was born in Springfield, the daughter of Robert Leander and Flossie Anna (Staples) Dill and attended schools in Lincoln and Springfield.
Theo lived a full life with her husband, P. Hazen Jipson, Sr. They shared 67 years together, raising their family on the farm in Webster Plt. before he passed away on December 27, 2014. During Theo's life she served as tax collector for the town of Webster Plt. for 28 years, and also served as Town Treasurer there for 41 years. She also served on the board of directors for Penobscot Valley Hospital and was on the school board for SAD 30. All the while she was raising her family of seven children, and working a full time job for Penquis CAP. Theo loved her job and she met so many people through her work. She passed out a lot of cheese in her time through the Donated cheese program. Everyone remembers the cheese! She loved helping people with the fuel assistance program as well. She traveled a lot of miles helping clients with their fuel assistance applications. She did a lot of good in her life. On Saturday mornings you would find her in the kitchen. She would put the beans in to cook and make home made yeast rolls, pie for father, and chocolate cake for the kids. And in between she may have someone stop in to pay their taxes or get a vehicle registered. She didn't mind at all - it was all in a day's work for her.
In addition to her husband, Theo was predeceased by a daughter, AnnaLee Scribner in 2004; her siblings, Chandler, Merle, Dean, Vinal, Pauline, Irene, June, Thelma, Marion, George, Ruby, Roger, Robert, and Judy.
Theo is survived by six children, Bonita and her husband Kenneth Whiting, Susan and her husband Dennis Irish, Annette ("Nicky") and her husband Francis Jandreau, Hazen Jipson, Jr, and his wife Robin, Brian Jipson and his wife Karyl, and BettyLynne Herschel,, a sister, Bernice ("Bunny") Gordon; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law, cousins, and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-8 PM Friday, October 18 at the Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Private interment will be at the Jipson Family Cemetery in Webster Plantation. Gifts in memory of Theo may be sent to the Activities Fund at Coloial Health Care, 36 Workman Terrace, Lincoln, ME 04457, or to the charity of one's choice.

Sue, Nicky, Betty and all the family,
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. She was quite a lady, such an inspiration to all. You were so lucky to have both of your parents live a long time. I remember them both from when I worked at Hannaford. They were such hard workers and raised an amazing family. Hope you find comfort in knowing they're now together again. My thoughts are for comfort and peace to you all.

To the family of Theo My sincere condolances upon the death of your loved one. I remember her well from her children in school and her being on the school board. She was always polite and considerate to me. She and Hazen allowed my fifth grade in Winn to pick potatoes in their field. A great experience and a treat before leaving at the end of our day. She will be missed. May the great and many years spent with her help to morn her death with thanksgiving for her life with you.

Worked many years with Theo. She did lots of good things while working at Penguins. Thatโ€™s the only bad thing about retiring you donโ€™t see your old friends. My thoughts arenโ€™t with you all.

We are sorry to hear of Theoโ€™s passing. Sincere condolences to the family. She was indeed a special lady and I have such fond memories. Some of her jobs required traveling to Millinocket and she would often stop by to visit! I loved our chats and her! RIP sweet lady! ๐Ÿ’”

I remember riding my bike there for eggs ( first place i was able to go alone on my bike) and paid land taxes for the first time there. ๐Ÿ’œ As well as the time i was riding my loud hot wheels down middle of the road. Theo sat patiently waiting to have my attention and explained how dangerous it was with a sweet nurturing smile. ( mom had told me plenty of times dnt ride it in the road) Theo youll be greatly missed thank you for the sweet memories.
