INDIAN ISLAND - INDIAN ISLAND - Suzanne L. (Nicola) Kenney, 64, passed away June 8, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Old Town, the daughter of Ralph A. Sr. and Grace M. (Paul) Nicola. Suzanne valued her family and was especially proud of her two grandchildren. She always enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She is survived by her two children, Eric Greenan of Bangor and Terri Greenan of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Amanda Heisey and Jeremy Greenan; one great-grandson, Carter Greenan; two sisters, Blanche Corbett of West Parris and Jenny LaFrance of Old Town; brother, Ralph A. Nicola Jr. of Indian Island; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friends, Norman Molley of Reading, Mass., and Millie Paul of Indian Island. In addition to her parents, Suzanne was predeceased by her brother, Francis Nicola. A special thanks to her caregivers, Doreen Burpee, Mary O'Neill and the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Eastern Maine Medical Center, for all of the kind and compassionate care they gave to Suzanne. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 10, at St. Ann's Church, Indian Island. Burial will be at New Cemetery with a luncheon afterward at the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Suzanne's honor may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 8730, Portland, ME 04104.
