I have very fond memories of working with Steve. You could always tell that Steve cared deeply about the farmers he worked with to help them to conserve natural resources. I will miss Steve's smile. Once when we were both attending a training session very far from home I fell ill and had to be admitted to the hospital. Steve came to the hospital and helped me through a stressful time-he was that kind of a man-great!

Steve and I met well over 14 years ago while serving on a National Committee of NRCS. I always called Steve “ my first Mainer”. I will for sure miss him. My deepest condolences to his family.

My heart cries. I had the pleasure of working with Steve in NRCS. Though we were on opposite ends of the state, when our paths did cross, he always treated me like an old friend. You could sense he was pure in heart. He was taken to Heaven way too young. My condolences to the family.

Can’t imagine the family’s heartbreak. Was shocked to hear of Steve’s passing. Traveled to the Ft. Kent field office many times over the years and always enjoyed spending time with Steve. What an infectious sense of humor he had. Loved hanging out with him, enjoyed his sarcastic wit. May God bless you all.
