Shirley M. Dunivan
She graduated from Newport High School, class of 1953. On August 7, 1953, she married Berl Dunivan. They lived in Plymouth and raised five children. Shirley worked several years for Guilford Industries in Newport and C.M. Almy in Pittsfield; but her joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She will be remembered for her cooking and sewing skills which have been passed on to her children and grandchildren. As a member of the Maine Quilters Guild and the Clueless Quilters, Shirley was very passionate about quilting. Her children and grandchildren will cherish her quilts for years to come.
She was a past member and officer of the Plymouth Grange. She was also in the bowling league at the Pittsfield Bowling Lanes for many years. Shirley also spent many hours working in her flower gardens.
Shirley is survived by her children, Gail (Kerbon) Littlefield of Corinna; Colleen (Harry) deCastro of Rehoboth, MA; Luanne (Sol) Pelkey of Palmyra; Cindy (Tim) Baird of Newport; and Jerry (Lori) Dunivan of Plymouth; 13 grandchildren, Jodi and Andrea Pelkey; Laura (Ryan) Walsh; Rachel (Jay) Sharkey; Amy (Dan) Warren; Nicole and Megan deCastro; Nathan, Adam (Heidi), Alex and Jenna Baird; Libby and Lexi Dunivan; 6 great-grandchildren, James and Madelyn Sharkey, Emily and Thomas Warren; Cole and Lyla Walsh; and cousins, nieces and nephews. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Berl, and siblings Bernard "Sonny" McAtee and Charlotte Gray.
