Bangor, Maine - Scott E. Simonds, 64, passed away January 31, 2026, at his home in Bangor. He was born April 16, 1961, in Bangor, the son of Jacqueline G. (Churchill) Simonds and James E. Simonds Sr.
Scott grew up in a large family with six siblings. As a child, one of his favorite places to visit was Moosebrook Farm in Ludlow, where time spent with his grandparents helped shape his appreciation for family and hard work. He was a talented carpenter, learning his skills from family - especially working alongside his older brothers, Shawn and Jim; and his uncle, Arlen. He always took pride in working with his hands. He also enjoyed the many friendships and memories he made while living on Vinalhaven.
Scott was predeceased by his grandparents; his parents; his aunt and uncle; and his youngest brother, Mark Simonds. He is survived by his children, Scott and Shania; and five siblings, Melanie of Turner, Felecia of Patten, Shawn of Islip, NY, Kimberly of Bangor, and Jim of Etna.
The family is grateful for the support and assistance given by his older sister, Kimberly, during the more difficult years of his life. A private service will be held at a later date, when he will be laid to rest in Ludlow with his mother, his brother, Mark, and his grandparents.
Rest in peace, Scott. We love you and are grateful you are at peace.
