Bangor, Maine - Roy "Runt" Eugene Albert, 93, of Millinocket, Maine, passed away on July 21, 2026. Runt was born October 12, 1932, in Millinocket, the son of Joseph and Mina (Devoe) Albert.

He attended Stearns High School and later earned his GED. He served in the Army National Guard. On June 11, 1951, he married the love of his life, Shirley (Larlee) Albert. He retired from Georgia-Pacific in 1987 after 38 years of dedicated service. He was a long time member of Tri-Town Baptist Church in East Millinocket. Runt helped build three local churches. He coached Little League for 40 years, and Little Giants football for 10 years. He volunteered with Meals For Me and I Care Ministries for 20 years, delivering meals and assisting with the food bank. He also served on the boards of directors for Terra Holt and Crestview. Runt cherished hunting and fishing trips with his son, Stephen, and his buddies Keith, Jay, and Gil. He loved walking his dogs, volunteering throughout the community, and making pickles with Grammy Kay, Shirley, and Kathy.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Shirley; his brothers, Daniel, Richard, and George; his daughter, Kathy Pelletier and son-in-law, Roger Pelletier; his daughter-in-law, Susan Albert; his brother-in-law, Donald Lynch; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Albert, Joyce Lynch, and Anne Albert. Runt is survived by his son, Stephen and his wife, Wanda; his grandchildren, Michelle (Albert) Brundrett and her husband, Jamie, Wayne Albert, and Carrissa Pelletier and her partner, Mike Donahue; his six great-grandchildren, Aliana, Anthony, Alexandra, Ella, Nolan, and Laney; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Tri-Town Baptist Church, 8 Cone St., East Millinocket on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Memorial gifts may be sent to Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, ME.
