Rollan Terence Walker Obituary

Sun City Center, FL, Florida - Rollan Terence Walker of Hermon passed away Jan. 7, 2026, surrounded by family at age 71, in Sun City Center, Florida, from Lewy Body Dementia; an uncommon diagnosis which he handled with dignity, humor, and continued display of his Southern raised manners. Rollan was born November 12, 1954, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the son of Rollan W. Walker and Betty C. Walker of Presque Isle.

Rollan and his beloved wife Rhonda were married on May 28, 1977, and created a home in Hermon after Rollan graduated from University of Maine at Orono, he proceeded to dedicate 42 years to Maine Department of Transportation, creating opportunities to make lifelong friendships, including cribbage opponent, John Chisholm. Rollan enjoyed re-building antique John Deere tractors, meticulously mowing his lawn, building stone walls, reading historical Civil War books, and spoiling his cat, Sprocket. Rollan enjoyed his cousin, Wesley, relaying Southern family news to Rollan, more than anything Rollan enjoyed spending time with his family.

Rollan and Rhonda's motto was, "Where I go you go, you go I go." They enjoyed traveling to Prince Edward Island and Florida with ever present and supportive family, Sue and Dave Ronald, and Bob and Dottie Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Rollan and Betty, Rollan was predeceased by his sister, Dawn (Walker) Simpson. Rollan is survived by the love of his life, Rhonda; as well as their three children: son, Rollan Thomas and wife, Candice, with children, McKinley, Austin and partner, Maddy, son, Scott and wife, Courtney, with daughter, Ivy, and daughter, Emily with children, Tyler and Brielle; and caring in-laws, Robin and Jim Jordan.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Aston Gardens at the Courtyards Memory Care and Life Path Hospice in Sun City Center for the support to his family and wonderful care provided to Rollan in his final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation in Rollan's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America for Alzheimer's and Dementia research.
