Brewer, Maine - Roger E. Archer passed away on November 24, 2025. He was born in Brewer, Maine on October 14, 1936, to Evelyn M. (Sargent) Archer and Edmond E. Archer.
Roger was a lifelong resident of Brewer/Holden. He graduated from Brewer High School in 1955. He attended Husson College and served six years in the U.S. Army Reserves. Roger worked a variety of jobs including at the A & P grocery store and Easter Fine Paper in Brewer before settling into his career working for the State of Maine as a liquor licensing agent.
Roger was predeceased by his wife, Vanessa and his son, Robert. He is survived by his twin brother, Ronald Archer and his wife, Judith, of Thorndike; niece, Janice Archer of Hampden; nephew, John Archer and his partner, Janet Smith, of Orrington; and niece, Julie Monroe and her husband, Daniel, of Holden. Family and friends may visit 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer with a burial immediately afterward at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401 or at bangorhumane.org.
