Troy, Maine - Roberta (Argraves) Clark died peacefully at her home on May 29, 2021, in Troy, Maine, at the age of 92.
Roberta is survived by her sisters, Euda (Argraves) Graham of Somers, Connecticut; Joyce (Argraves) Thurlow of Augusta, Maine; Sandra (Argaves) Marrara of Kingwood, WV; and her children, Rhoda Bourgue of Troy, Maine, Rhonda Barnes of Troy, Maine, Talline Hood Denver, Colorado, David Clark of Florida, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her former husband, Gerald Clark; her parents, Robert Perry and Ruth Adelade (Brown) Argraves; sister, Lorraine Blanche Barnes, brother, Stephen Dale Argraves, and grandparents, Harvey and Adeline Blanche (Crouse) Brown, and John Henry, and Ethel (Archer) Argraves.
Roberta was born on September 7, 1929, in Presque Isle, Maine, to Robert and Ruth Argraves. She graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1947. She went on to give private lessons in art and to instruct at Asnuntuck Community College. She is known as a talented artist who graced the walls of many of her family and friends with her artist creations. She was also an avid family historian who proudly wrote and taught about the family's historic roots, including the establishment of a community named Crouseville, after pioneers Gould and Hepzibah Crouse, (her 2nd great-grandparent). Her family remembers her as someone who was fiercely independent, nursed anyone who needed her and left her artistic and carpentry skills everywhere.
Inurnment will be announced at a later date in the Crousville Cemetery in Washburn, Maine.
