Robert E Ross

Passadumkeag - Bob left us on 6/6/19 with his loving family, dog Nixie, and special sister Eileen and partner Melford Bouchard by his side.

Those who knew Bob well would agree he was happiest with his family and a house full of friends. He always said what he meant, and meant what he said.

He was a retired Ironworker out of Local 496 for over 35 years. He served in the U.S. Navy and aboard the USS Wisconsin for all four years.

Bob was a dedicated husband and father, leaving behind his wife, Joan Ross of 49 years; son, Dale Ross, daughter Darby Vigue and husband Eric, Marilyn Blethen and husband Jeff, and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren

Predeceased were Baby Boy Ross, his mother Beatrice Ross, father Lester Ross, and sister Lola Oliver.

Graveside services will be held at Williams Cemetery in Bradford, on Friday June 14, 2019 at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Don Booker presiding.

I moved to MD from ME in the early 70's but Bob was like a big brother to me in the 60's. I was much younger than Bob but he always treated me as an equal. We made many trips from Bradford to Bangor to attend the horse races. When I first got my drivers permit Bob let me drive the big Olds, Quite a thrill for a 16 yr old kid. On the way home from the races we usually stopped at Frank's lunch in East Corinth for a cheeseburger and a chocolate milk. Many fond memories of Bob. RIP

Please accept my condolences. I like the picture that was provided with the obit, of Bob and a beautiful German Shepherd. Any friend of animals is a friend of mine. My heart goes out to you during your time of mourning.

Dear Joan and the whole Ross family, so sorry & saddened to hear of the loss of Bob. We have a lot of great memories of Bob over the years and no matter when or where I always enjoyed talking with him and listening to all his stories from the old days, to deer hunting, his garden or whatever they were all great chats! He will be sadly missed by all who knew him ! You are all in our Thoughts & Prayers thru this difficult time!

Joan, I am so sorry for your loss. He was a good man. Of course I didn't know him well...other than a couple times running into you at Milford Mobil, the ironworkers luncheons. Take care and hope to see you soon at the luncheon. My condolences to you and your family.
