Howland, Maine - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Plourde, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Robert passed away unexpectedly at home on July 19, 2025.

Bob was born August 17, 1949, in Brunswick, Maine, the son of Richard and Frances (Ouellette) Plourde. He grew up in Howland and graduated from Penobscot Valley High School in 1967. He was a member of the Maine Air National Guards from 1968 to 1974. Bob was a hard working man with a great work ethic he worked at the Great Northern, East Millinocket Mill until retirement. If you knew Bob, you knew him to be kind, with a great sense of humor, and a loyal friend. Bob's passions were spending time with his family, playing golf with his buddies (you know who you are), He loved music (especially the Beatles), he was an avid reader, and had a vast knowledge of History.

Bob is survived by his wife, Cindy of Howland; his son, Aaron of Lagrange; granddaughter, Kayla of Lagrange and her daughter, Promise; his stepson, Matthew Duque of Old Town and his sons, Carter and Cash; his sister, Patty and husband, Gerald Hutchinson, of Edinburg; and their daughters, Heather and husband, Paul Campbell, of Howland, and Megan and husband, Sam Cronkite, of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents.

At Bob's request there will be no services. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date. Those who wish to remember Bob in a special way may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association or do a good deed and pay it forward.
