Robert Morrison Obituary

Charleston, Maine - Robert "Bob" Morrison was born in Boston, MA, on February 9, 1932. He died in Charleston, ME, on December 20, 2024.

His eyes were always open to the natural world he loved. He was endlessly fascinated by everything in it, from the tiniest insects that lived in the fields he farmed, to the glaciers that created the landscape and formed those fields. It was not a far reach from geologist to farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan; two sons, Steve and Eric, who carry on his tradition of being able to do almost anything; three daughters-in-law, Mia, Suzanne and Sonja, who delighted him; and six granddaughters, Kate, Fern, Fay, Kajsa, Terra and Gale, who will carry his legacy in six different directions. There have been many friends and relatives who have been great gifts. If they are living, they will know who they are. If not, perhaps he is off looking for them now.

Though strength, memory, and health failed at the end, his gentle wit did not. Nor did his love for all those who made up his world, including the wonderful healthcare team from St. Joseph's Hospice who blessed his last months. The family's gratitude to them is beyond words.
