Hermon and Orrington, Maine - Richard Terry Watson, 91, passed away October 4, 2022. He was born September 9, 1931, in Conway, New Hampshire, the son of Richard and May (Whittaker) Watson.

Richard joined the United States Army in 1953. He was stationed in Colorado and taught skiing and rock climbing to other service members. He thought it was great duty to be teaching what he enjoyed doing. Richard later worked for W.S. Emerson in Brewer before becoming the Code Enforcement Officer and Plumbing Inspector for several area towns, including Glenburn, Etna, Dedham, and Hampden. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially in Alaska, where he traveled to the Kenai River many times to fish. Richard was a 35 plus year friend of Bill W.

He was predeceased by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Marilyn Thibeau. Richard is survived by wife, Lois Watson; stepchildren, David Clark and wife, Kim, and Dan Clark; children, Suzanne Watson and Steve Watson; grandchildren, Kevin Clark and friend, Theresa Greenleaf, Ashley Works and husband, Andrew, Melissa Gray and husband, Dalton, and AJ Page; greatgrandson, Wesley Gray; sister, Patty Bryant and husband, John; brother-in-law, Brian Thibeau and wife, Shannon; sister-in-law, Donna Dubay; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Burial will be held privately at Village Cemetery, Conway, New Hampshire. Messages and memories may be shared with the family at kileyandfoley.com
