Baileyville, Maine - Richard H. Diadone, 89, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, February 9, 2026. Richard was born in St. Stephen, NB, on September 12, 1936, the oldest son of Joseph and Pauline Diadone of Baileyville, ME.
Richard, a.k.a. Dick Diadone, was a 1953 graduate of Woodland High School and a 1954 graduate of Kents Hill. Dick served in the U.S. Army as a surveyor for the 25th Division Lightening Rod Artillery. Dick's career also spanned 43 years between St. Croix Pulp & Paper and Georgia Pacific. He retired as a video operator in 1997. Throughout the years Dick's personal time was spent with family and friends bowling, fishing, scuba diving, golfing, skiing, snowmobiling and traveling but his most beloved hobby was sailing. Dick was an organizing member of the Saint Croix Yacht Club and served a term as club Commodore. Dick was also a participating member of the American Legion.
Dick was predeceased by his parents; and brother Gary. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Catherine; son, Robert; son-in-law, Mark Kelsey; daughter-in-law, Lisa Dereszewski; two grandsons, Christopher and Nicholas Kelsey; two nephews, Jeff and Terry Diadone; and cousin, Zenna Inness.
A graveside service will be held later this year followed by a celebration of life at Rime Farm in Charolette.
