Chester, Maine - Richard A. Brown passed away on September 1, 2025. He was born to Perley and Margaret Costello Brown on February 6, 1944, in Millinocket.

He married the love of his life, Rebecca, on December 23, 1972, and together had a blended family of 8 children: Dick Jr. and Cindy Brown, Todd Brown and Debbie, Jennifer and Craig Lilley, Bobbie Brown and Nelson, Barbara Kimball, Betty Jo and Mike Austin, and Roger and his wife, Sherri Pinette.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Paul; and daughter, Beverly Montgomery. Surviving besides his wife and children are his twin brother, Bob and Cindy; sisters, Martha Frost and Mary Brown; his brothers-in-law, Cedric and Helen Knights, and Dean Knights; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind special friends, Pam and Cindi, Irene Gifford, and Joan Stinson and Joe Stanley.

He loved riding all over the U.S., Canada, Alaska, and Mexico on his Goldwing with Becky, Bobbie, Barb and Angie. He was past exalted ruler and chaplain of the Millinocket Elks Lodge 1521 and dedicated bingo volunteer. Dick served 27 years in the National Guard. He worked for both East Millinocket and Millinocket mills, as well as corrections office for PCJ, and in recent years a volunteer driver for Penquis Transportation.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Elks Lodge, Aroostook Ave., Millinocket. Graveside services will be at a later date.
