Reginald Noel Greenier Obituary
Caswell, Maine - Reginald Noel Greenier was born on Christmas Day 1925, and walked this earth for nearly 100 years before he died suddenly on August 31, 2025. He was classic "Reg" to the very end, joking with the nurses and talking about his farming days in Aroostook County.
Reg was born to Vinal and Gladys Greenier in Caswell, Maine, and he lived there nearly all his life before moving to Stroudwater Lodge in Westbrook in 2022. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in both the Philippines and Japan. When he returned home to Maine he met June Rasmussen, a spirited and kind-hearted girl from Perham, at a Legion Hall dance. They quickly became inseparable and were married in 1949. They spent the next 73 years building a life together, raising four children and running a farming business along the way, until June's passing in 2022. Reg spent most of his life as a potato farmer on the Caswell farm he and June purchased in 1952. He took pride in his farming practices and was a good steward of the land he so loved. He also worked at Loring AFB during the winter months as a snowplow operator. In his earlier years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling and gardening. He was a member of the VFW, Caswell Baseball Team, and Pleasant Ridge Snowmobile Club and was an Honorary Chapter Farmer of FFA, a Top 10 potato grower of 1992, and a member of Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church. He was known for his quick wit and good humor and enjoyed family gatherings that always included a big lobster feast!
Reg is survived by his children, Garth and wife, Kelly, of Gorham, Maine, Debbie and husband, Dennis, of Oklahoma, Fred and wife, Betsy, of Gorham, Maine, and Jennifer of California; his grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, Ryan, Nick, Hilary, Elise, Ellie, Tom and Warren; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ella, Cooper, Mason, Daisy, River, Ryder, TJ and Cole. Reg is also survived by his brother-in-law, Hardie; and sisters-in-law, Cindy and Louella. He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Anita and husband, Maynard, Glenda, Sylvia and husband, Al, Roger and wife, Priscilla; and on June's side of the family, parents-in-law, Richard and Lillian Rasmussen; and siblings/spouses-in-law, Lillian and Gus, Edith and Ralph, Ginny and Junior, Greg and Vernon. The family truly appreciates the staff at Stroudwater Lodge for the care and kindness they gave Reg while he lived there.
The family will gather soon for a private celebration of his life. If you want to celebrate Reg, have a cold beer, take a long drive in the countryside, eat a red hot dog, or smile about a time when he made you laugh. He lived a long and good life, and we are grateful. Arrangements in care of Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Presque Isle, ME 04736.
