Reginald Alan Bishop

Stetson - Reginald Alan Bishop, treasured father of Sarah Bishop and Gretchen Sands, died peacefully July 15, 2019, holding his caregiver Gretchen's hand.
Reg was a veteran injured while serving the Maine Army National Guard in 1978. Despite his injuries he continued to work for 20 more years. He was a professional siding, roofing and building contractor, who was a Master Craftsman fabricating metal house trim. Reg did the work of three men and every customer was awed by his quality work.
Reg was always surprising us with his advice, labor, financial help or giving us things he thought we needed.
He loved to collect antiques and never threw anything out, as it might be remolded into some future project.
He leaves behind admired sons-in-law, Maurice Sands of Wash. and Colby Stoddard of Mass., whom he considered his son; adored grandchildren, Tahlia and Cameron Sands, and Violette and Isabel Stoddard.
He was born October 7, 1954, the son of Leola Gerow Bishop; brother to Kelly and Bea Bishop, Susan Bishop and Bill Scribner, Danette and David Mondou, and William and Jon Roberts. He also leaves many friends, including Jerry Toner; Billy Adams, whose unending support Reggie certainly appreciated; and Jake Little, joyously remembered.
His ex-wife Priscilla Holmes Stover and Willie provided much support and care his last months.
He was predeceased by two special cousins, Terry Stilwell and Dan Gerow.
Reginald will be buried by private ceremony in Hodgdon Cemetery near his departed friends, David Welton, Greg Royal and Roger Wilson. A celebration (party) will be announced for early October.

I worked with Reggie several times when I was laid off in the early 80's and yes, he could do the work of three men, he taught me many things pertaining to siding, trim work, roofing and carpentry. He was a perfectionist and it showed with the end results of his work.
I will miss Reggie very much, our condolences from my family to yours.

We will miss my dear cousin Reggie as we called him, very much. Many years ago we owned a home in Bangor, Maine. It was basically 3 stories high and needed shingling. Who to call? The answer was clear. Call Reggie, who at the time lived in Brewer, Me. We and our children still recall the site of Reggie bouncing on by our 2nd story windows with a sheff of shingles over his shoulder, litterly bouncing as he walked across a board with that special Reggie smile on his face as he prepared to climb up even higher. He was a special man to us and our children and one of the few cousins they actually knew. We will miss you very much dear cousin Reggie. You will always have a special place... in our heart and put a smile on our face when we think of you. Special condolences to our dear Aunt Leola and all the family.Read more
