Monticello, Maine - Polly A. McCready, 74, passed away May 4, 2026, at Eastern Maine Medical Center. She was born on December 19, 1951, in Bangor, the daughter of Donald E. McCready and Elaine (Edgecomb) McCready.

Polly spent her life in retail sales and worked for more than two decades as a stable hand at the Kennebec Morgan Horse Farm in Woolwich, Maine. Her love for her family, friends, coworkers, customers, and her "little piece of heaven" up in The County, was only outdone by her love for her animals.

She is survived by her son, Matthew McCready; grandchildren, Alexander, Joseph, and Valerie McCready; her brothers, Steven and Michael McCready; her sister, Sally Jacobs; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Polly was predeceased by her brother, Donald McCready Jr.

A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on May 24, 2026, at Monticello Fish and Game, 82 Russell Rock Rd., Monticello. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
