Brewer, Maine - Phyllis Marie Sprague, age 80, passed away on January 16, 2024, with her family by her side. Born on July 6, 1943, in Newbury, Vermont, Phyllis was one of eight children of Joseph and Geraldine Wheeler. She spent her youth in Plainfield, Vermont, where she graduated high school. A veteran of the United States Army, she enlisted after graduation. At the age of 62, she retired from Eastern Maine Medical Center after working there for more than 30 years. In her younger years, Phyllis loved to go out for a night of dancing at the Eagles Club in Brewer. It was there that she met Harold Lord of Brewer, Maine, whom she spent almost thirty joyful years with.

Phyllis was predeceased by her parents; son, Rex Sprague III; granddaughter, Summer Ann Sprague; and great-granddaughter, Novalee Gordon. She is survived by her three children, Petra Hannah (Brad) of New Brunswick, CAN, Caryn Garcia (Frank) of Globe, AZ, and Michael Sprague Sr. (Annette) of Jefferson, ME, along with eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.

Phyllis was known for her kindness and caring attitude. Her family meant the world to her and spending time with them was her greatest joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Phyllis requested a gathering to celebrate her life with love and laughter. We encourage all to join us in sharing happy memories and fun times had with her.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on March 2, 2024, at Elks Lodge, 108 Odin Rd, Bangor, ME 04401.
