Philip A. Tardiff Obituary

Eddington, Maine - Philip A. Tardiff, 75, passed away August 29, 2025, at his home after a period of declining health. Phil was born on March 20, 1950, to the late Walter R. and Rose Marie (Bell) Tardiff.

Phil grew up on Copeland Hill in Holden and graduated from Brewer High School in 1968. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1969 to 1971. Phil worked as a deputy for the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office and as an officer for the Old Town Police Dept. He later became licensed as a burner technician and worked throughout his career as a carpenter. Phil enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching the birds and wildlife at his home.

He is survived by his son, Eric Tardiff and his wife, Robin, and their son, Ben, of Milford; his daughter, Jill Holyoke and her husband, Jason, and their daughter, Lauren, of Holden; the mother of his children, Cheryl Tardiff; two brothers, Walter "Skip" Tardiff and Gerald Tardiff; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Phil was predeceased by his siblings, Michael, Vaughn, Anita Lapan, Lois Vail, John, Sam, Frances Vittum, Ronald and Frank.
