Woodland, Maine - Peter J. Doody, 71, passed away in Presque Isle, ME, on April 4, 2026. He was born in Caribou, Maine, to James and Lillian Doody on January 31, 1955.

Peter attended Caribou High School, where he graduated in 1973. Peter later attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle, where he earned a degree in English. Upon graduating, Peter worked as a high school English teacher for several years before returning to his roots as a painter and carpenter.

Peter was a beloved father, son, brother, nephew, and friend. Peter loved playing guitar, learning about history, coin collecting, woodworking, and computer games. Peter was known to family and friends as a comedian and a storyteller. His main objective in life was to make people laugh.

Peter is survived by a son, AJ Doody. Peter is also survived by many close friends, cousins; and his dear aunt, Elsie Doody. Peter was predeceased by his brothers, Richard Doody and Roger Doody. He was also predeceased by his parents, James and Lillian Doody.
