Veazie, Maine - Paul V. Noddin, 83, of East Millinocket and Veazie passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Eastern Maine Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was born on January 3, 1943, in Medway, ME, the son of Lionel and Marjorie (York) Noddin.

After graduating as president of Schenck High School, class of 1960, and a short stint in business school, he returned to Medway and went to work for Great Northern Paper Company where he retired as a storeroom clerk after 35 years. He also spent countless hours supporting and assisting his wife, Diane, with her business, Noddin's Flower Shop. He was active in community affairs and the activities of his children, including the East Millinocket Budget Committee, school board, pitch club, Little League baseball coach, Boy Scouting volunteer adult, and equipment van driver for the Pink Panthers Color Guard and Drill Team. His hobbies included genealogy, watch collecting, hunting, fishing, spending summers with family at Cedar Lake, and riding the remote roads of northern Maine. There was also a period in his life when he studied locksmithing and enjoyed purchasing antique safes from hard to access rooms on the upper floors of commercial buildings, refurbishing and reselling them. Paul was a 50-year Freemason, being raised a Master Mason in Nollesemic Lodge in Millinocket and later affiliating with Pine Tree Lodge in Mattawamkeag. He was also a 32nd Degree member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Bangor and Anah Shrine Temple. Paul will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit.

He was predeceased by his parents; and grandson, Jacob Noddin. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Diane (Crawford); his three children, Peter and his wife, Peggy, of Rindge, NH, Mary Morris and her husband, Tom, of Veazie, and Howard and his wife, Roxanne, of Kenduskeag; his sister, Patty Yerxa and Don; seven grandchildren, Dana Waltz and wife, Rachel, Alexandria Waltz and partner, Mark, Michael Noddin, Allison Noddin, Matthew Morris and wife, Bridget, Martina (Morris) Hale and husband, Nathan, and Chelsea Noddin and partner, Ricky; and seven great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Diana, Avery, Abel, Natalie, Jackson, and Madeline.

A graveside service is being planned for later in the summer at East Millinocket Cemetery.
