Patty Ann Rose (Desjardins) Boutot Obituary

Lisbon Falls, Maine - Patty Ann Rose (Desjardins) Boutot passed away peacefully at her home on June 12th, 2020, after a long illness, surrounded by family including her loving husband, Alan J. Boutot. Patty was born on November 18th, 1964, in Van Buren, Maine to the late Gerard P. Desjardins and Lorraine (Madore) Desjardins.

Patty was a 1983 VBDSS graduate and attended Casco Bay College. She and Alan were married in 1986. After a handful of part-time jobs, Patty began her long and rewarding employment with L.L.Bean in Freeport. She first worked in Retail as a Cashier and remembered cashing out Walter Cronkite and Robert Urich. Also memorable was a visit to the store by Katharine Hepburn witnessed by Patty. She soon moved into the Benefits Department where she grew in her job duties over the course of 33 years in HR. Patty became the Leave of Absence Administrator, in her words her "dream job". Unfortunately due to her own illness, she had to take a medical leave of absence and retired in October 2019. Patty was also the Chief Assistant and Lead Model at Boutot Photography from 1985-2014, finally graduating to 2nd photo journalistic photographer for Alan, capturing the details of a multitude of weddings. Patty loved to do her own yard work. Together, she and Alan maintained a beautiful home and yard.

Patty is survived by her siblings: Philip Desjardins and Brigitte of Bangor, Anne Marie Aubin and Ronald of Hebron, Connecticut, Peter Desjardins and Jeanne of Durham, John Desjardins of Cundy's Harbor, Gene Desjardins of Van Buren, Mark Desjardins and Elena of Woolwich, Paul Desjardins and Norma of Presque Isle, Cheryl Thompson of Lisbon. Also her Boutot family: Mrs. Yvonne Boutot of Van Buren, Carline and Gaetan Dube of Glenburn, Carmen of Van Buren, Norman and Rachel of Coventry, Connecticut; her many friends and the L.L.Bean Community.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, George; a great-nephew, Bennett Desjardins; her father-in-law, Mr. Rosaire Boutot; and her brother-in-law, Clarence. Tante Patty was a loving presence in the lives of her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and five godchildren.

A Funeral Mass and Celebration of Patty's life will be held at a later date at Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon Falls. A graveside service will be held at the Grand Riviere Cemetery, Van Buren at a later time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dempsey Center, a non-profit organization serving cancer patients and their support-givers, 29 Lowell Street, Lewiston, Maine; or to St. Apollonia Dental Clinic, a non-profit children's dental center, 122 Academy Street, Presque Isle, Maine.
