Stockton Springs, Maine - Pat Fraser went on to be with the Lord July 14, 2020, at her home in Stockton Springs, Maine with her husband by her side.

Born Patricia Kirk in Owls Head Maine 8/8/1940 to Lawrence and Carla (Smith) Kirk. Lawrence was lost on a fishing boat with its entire crew before Pat was born. While still young, Pat and her family moved to Rockland. She was raised to understand the value of hard work and put herself into everything she could.

She graduated from Rockland High School, working local jobs until she married Brent Fraser in 1975. They moved to Stockton Springs where Pat helped Brent in everything he did without being asked. Pat ran a second-hand store in Searsport; later purchasing land and transferred the store to Stockton Springs.

She built and operated Fraser's Restaurant for three years. During the same period, she started a thirteen-year career at Waldo County Hospital as a CNA. She loved caring for patients helping people. After this, she spent 14 years as a nutrition aid working at the University of Maine Waldo Extension. She loved working with young mothers, the elderly, and school children.

She continued working until she was seventy years old because "she just wanted to work."

Early in their marriage, Pat accompanied Brent on motorcycle vacations covering New England and Canada. Then she would travel with Brent in a tractor-trailer all over the county during all her vacation time. After experiencing Christian conversion the couple took a trip to Israel where they were baptized a second time in the Jordan River. Pat considered this one of the highlights of her life.

They traveled throughout the Caribbean visiting places Brent had worked on offshore tugs.

After retirement, Pat experienced early stages of dementia and joined Brent on the road full time. She saw all the lower 48 states extensively. She ran the west coast from the Mexican to Canadian borders.

Pat was always there for her husband whether to stay on old fishing boats, fly in planes, or travel in rigs. She was always so supportive of Brent.

One of her true delights was shopping, especially yard sales (though seldom for herself). She preferred to pick up things for her friends and coworkers.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother John Gilbert Kirk of South Thomaston.

She is survived by her husband Brent; a sister Mary Cummings of Sacramento, California; a brother Raymond Kirk of Bucksport, Maine; a son Raymond Trimble of Belfast, Maine, 2 daughters, Brenda Varney of Davenport, Florida, and Amy Fraser Carson of Pittsfield, Maine; eight granddaughters; many nieces, nephews; and a close friend Evelyn Grindle of Cushing Maine.

A special thanks to Waldo County Hospice workers who gave Pat such wonderful care at the end of her life.

A Celebration of Pat's Life will be held at 1 p.m. on July 31, 2020, in Belfast at the Shrine Club, located across from the Belfast Park.
