Patricia Ann McConnell Obituary

Broad Brook, Connecticut - Patricia Ann McConnell passed away on June 3, 2026. Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1940, in Houlton, Maine, Patricia was the beloved daughter of the late Elmer Emerson and Mary Geraldine (Schools) McConnell.

Patricia enjoyed spending her time between Connecticut and Florida, becoming a seasonal resident of Florida in 2008. She dedicated 45 years of her professional life to the insurance industry, retiring as an Insurance Underwriter with Aetna-Voya.

A woman of deep faith, Patricia was a devoted member of St. Catherine Church in Broad Brook, CT, and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven, FL. She was also an active member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Garden Club in Connecticut.

Patricia found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved reading, sewing, playing bingo, cooking, baking, and, above all, spending cherished time with her family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, James A. McConnell; her sister-in-law, Kathleen A. Jewett McConnell; her brothers-in-law, Clifford W. Barker and William J. Clegg; and her special cousin, Louise Shewokis. Patricia leaves behind her loving sisters, Janet Barker of Maine, Carol Sands of Florida, and Margaret Clegg of Florida; her nieces, Tammy Sands Mueller (John), Patricia Curioso (Rudy), Kelly Barker Larson Mills (Phil), Jody Barker (Kirk), Karen McConnell Brown (Stan), Maureen McConnell Foreman (Dan), Amy Lynn Barker McConnell, Tracey Barker Albert (Andy), and Rebecca Sands Conklin (David); her nephews, Michael Barker (AmyJoy Berube) and Mark McConnell; 15 great-nieces and great-nephews, Tristan (McKaylee), Rachael, Nicholas (Emily), Jordyn (Megan), Isaac, Madisyn (Tye), Macey (Darren), Adrienne, Zachary, Caroline, Tyler (Sami), Arlo, Jillian, Logan, Lexie (Conor), Ashley, Kaitlyn, Natalie, Rylee, Joey, Garrison, Brookline, Thatcher, Jovie, and Wyatt; and her great-great-niece and great-great-nephew, Elsie and Krue. She also leaves many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 8 to 9 a.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT. A procession will lead to a Mass of Christian burial at St. Catherine Church, 6 Windsorville Rd., Broad Brook, CT 06016. Burial will take place at St. Catherine Cemetery in Broad Brook. In keeping with Pat's wishes, the family asks that floral tributes be simple in nature, as she especially loved pansies, carnations, and other simple garden flowers.
