Plymouth, Maine - Patricia A. Grass, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 15, 2026, after a 15 year battle with Parkinson's disease. She never complained about pain or any issues during her illness and always kept her sense of humor for all of us. She was born on July 12, 1940, in Monroe, Maine, the daughter of the late Raymond and Eva (Landry) Wing.

She graduated from Newport High School with the class of 1959 and married her soulmate, Michael Grass, in 1962. After graduating from Husson, she was employed at the Cummings Woolen Mill and then was hired at HP Hood in Newport, as chief clerk, and worked there for more than 25 years. After the closure of the Hood plant, she then worked at Sysco in Newport for 8 years and finished her career with the RSU 19 elementary schools. During this time she also kept the books for her family's business, Mike Grass Builders. Pat was a very strong person and hard worker, but when she got home, that is where her "favorite work" began.

Family was everything to Pat, and her horses were her passion since she was a little girl. She loved spending time in the barn, cleaning stalls and giving the horses a good brushing. She got her first horse, Queenie, when she was 8 years old and from that day on she always had a horse, and enjoyed competing at local horse shows and fairs. After marrying her husband, Mike, together they built their first horse farm, Windy Hill Stables, and then their forever farm, Grasslands. They started breeding, raising, and showing Appaloosa horses, winning multiple state and national awards. Pat was an accomplished horsewoman, giving riding lessons and honing her skills while showing "Apps" up and down the east coast (Florida and Texas too). She competed in several World and National shows, and was a National Champion in some of her non-pro master's classes. She belonged to the Maine Appaloosa Horse Club, as well as other New England state associations and the National Appaloosa Horse Club. She and Mike were fortunate to make wonderful friends throughout the horse world and all over the United States and Canada.

Pat loved spending time at camp on Round Pond with her family and friends. On hot summer days, you could find her and Mike on their pontoon boat, sipping wine and having a cold one with their late friends, Dot and Al. She also enjoyed their "happy hours" on their sun porch watching the deer, birds and squirrels, and their many family trips to Daytona Beach. She made friends everywhere she went, and was loved by many. Now she is in heaven, watching over us, and riding free in greener pastures.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Michael Grass; daughter, Lisa Pelkey and husband, Bill; son, Mike Grass Jr. and wife, Brandy; four grandchildren, Billy Pelkey, Mikayla Pelkey, Dana Baker and husband, Breac, and Brandon Grass; three great-grandchildren, Will, Addi, and Quincy; a special sister-in-law, who was as her own sister, Sandra Raven and husband, Burleigh; former brother-in-law, Jack King; and nieces, Laurie, Tammy, and Teresa, and their families.

Memorial donations may be given to the Parkinson's Foundation, New England Chapter, in her memory. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Broken Putter, 378 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield.
