Belfast - On March 16, 2019, I, Norma Claire Littlefield, went to be with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is a glorious day in my life.

I was born in Brooks, ME on October 26, 1934, to Thomas H. and Marguerite J. (Gurney) Decrow. I attended school at Brooks Elementary and graduated from Morse Memorial High School and Kennebec Valley Technical College. I was self-taught in my sewing and craft abilities. I worked at many jobs including Belfast Infants Wear Factory in Belfast, A & P stores in both West Haven, CT and Belfast, Stover's Jewelry and Goose River Grocery both in Belfast before moving to Morrill, ME where I Co-owned Morrill General Store with my then husband Ernest Littlefield from 1961-1977. I had a day care, also taught Adult Ed for 34 years in districts 3, 34, and 56, was a seamstress for myself as well as Em Bee Cleaners, and worked as an attendant at Young Funeral Home. I also owned my own business-Norma's Nimble Thimble and was an independent distributor of Nikken Inc.

I earned the Outstanding Community Volunteer Award in 1986, Teacher of the Year in 1988, Hospice Volunteer and Literacy Volunteer of America-Maine. I enjoyed volunteering for Hospice, Literacy Volunteers and a church secretary at the Searsport Methodist Church. I served on the board at Waldo County Extension and was an instructor at their workshops. I was active with Faith at work and Tres Dias Ministries.

I loved my family, my work & helping others to learn, recognize and use their talents for their craft. My home sewing business sent me customers that brought me great joy and many challenges, I loved them all. I loved working with my hands and creating personalized gifts. Every item I made, whether it was a homemade card or something sewed, knitted or crocheted, was done with love.
As I enter into God's Gate with praise for God as he has blessed me with a life of good health and so many treasures. I will be waiting to welcome my family and friends all which I've been blessed to know.
I was predeceased by my parents, two son's Keith and Baby Boy and two siblings George and Annabelle Payson.

I leave behind my Son, Bruce Littlefield and partner Bill Donald of Searsmont, daughters and son in laws, Carol & Richard Cook of Morrill and Susan and Shawn Bailey of Belfast; a daughter in law Margo and a step daughter Carolyn Shute. My grandchildren; Brian, Bruce Jr, Lacie, Letitia, Jane, Kathleen, Kayla and Jayme; great-grandchildren Joseph, Jack, Megan, Elena, Trace, Blake, Bentley, Laityn, Tristen, Isabella, Keetan, Lyric and one other arriving in October. Sisters, Toma and Hugh Hatch in RI and Angelia in Brooks and many nieces, nephews, cousins and Special Friends.

My final thoughts to you;
"Don't weep for me when I am gone, be glad for me, rejoice. For I am with my Maker now, there is no better choice. So gather round me loved ones, pay heed to what I say. Although you cannot see me, I'll not be far away. Be good to one another, be all that you can be. Some day when your time comes, then again you'll be with me. I'll be watching over you from heaven up above, so don't remember me with tears, remember me with love."

We, as her family and friends, will miss her dearly. Our hearts were broken on Saturday evening. She was loved as we were loved by her. She will be sadly missed not only by her family but also the community.

Special thanks to her medical team, friends and family who cared for her. Those who helped or even visited. She loved being able to gather with her sewing students & friends working on quilts and other craft projects.
Visitation will be Saturday March 23, 2019 at 12 pm, services to follow at 1 pm at the Swanville Community Church in Swanville. Pastor James Knox will be officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Young Funeral Home in Searsport Maine. (mitchelltweedie-young.com)
