Presque Isle - Norma A. Gudreau 85, passed away April 30, 2019 at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born January 5, 1934, the daughter of Clinton and Margaret (Nadeau) Hewitt.
Norma was a very famous poet. She had a poem written in the Poems of the Twentieth Book of Famous Poems. She worked as a cook at SAD#1 for many years, and previously been employed by the Aroostook State Farm, K-Mart and the Braden Theater. She had a degree in cooking, did a lot of volunteering for the elderly, was a member of the Spragueville Extension, Mary Martha Circle, Grant Memorial Methodist Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles Gudreau in 2009, and seventeen siblings. She is survived by a daughter, Ellen Cronin of Presque Isle, three sons, Wayne Gudreau of Presque Isle, Stephen Gudreau and his wife, Peggy, of Mapleton, Michael Gudreau and his wife, Kelly, of Presque Isle; three grandchildren, Dannielle Blade and her husband, David, Matthew Cronin and his wife, Mindy, and Michael Gudreau II and his wife, Ryanne; great-grandchildren, Sierra Blade, Alyssa Blade, Calliana Cronin, Jacob and Grace Cronin, Laurel and Violet Gudreau; several nieces and nephews, and a dear friend, Edith Park of Presque Isle.
Relatives and friends may call 12:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Grant Memorial Methodist Church where funeral services will be held at 1PM with Rev. Chris Dare officiating. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Donations may be made in her memory to Grant Memorial Methodist Church, P.O. Box 992, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
