Gray, Maine - Nicolle Soucy Morneault passed away on September 17, 2025, at the age of 44, from breast cancer. Nicolle was born in Bangor, Maine, on May 22, 1981, to parents, Christine Soucy Angel-Pruyn and Rodney Morneault.
She graduated from Deering High School and attended Maine College of Art & Design. Nicolle worked for years in the Portland restaurant industry, gaining many friends along the way. She then went on to pursue her passion of makeup artistry and graduated from Spa Tech as an aesthetician. She married JR Roberts in 2016, and together they raised two children, Anthony and Kole.
Right from the start, Nicolle referred to herself as an anomaly because the type of breast cancer she was diagnosed with had a low survival rate. She lived as fully as possible throughout her journey. Her tenacity and love for her son, Kole and her family kept her with us for 6.5 years.
Nicolle was strong, loving, sensitive, passionate, bossy and had a huge heart. One of her greatest passions was live music. Nicolle was a gorgeous visual artist, expressing herself through various modalities. She loved to paint, garden, design clothing and do makeup for occasions. Recently she was playing with a different medium and working with metal.
Nicolle credited Dr. Chiara Batelli with the length of time she had due to her knowledge and expertise. The two of them became extremely close, always able to make each other smile and laugh, even during the difficult conversations. She was very fond and grateful for all the staff at NECS.
Nicolle is survived by her husband, JR Roberts; her son, Kole Roberts and stepson, Anthony Roberts; her mother, Christine Angel (Micheal Pruyn); her father, Rodney Morneault (Stacey Morneault); her siblings, Karra Morneault (Chris Gans), Caleb Angell, Joshua Morneault, Cassie Pruyn (Lauren Gauthier) and Tina Pruyn (Kevin Leahy); and her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers Nicolle asked that a donation be made in her name to The Dempsey Center or METAVIOR.org.
A celebration of life will be held at The Landing in Scarborough, ME, on October 25, 2025, at 3 p.m.
