Orrington - Nancy Gray Richardson, our beautiful, creative mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on August 3, 2019. We will miss her surprise parties and her artistic, fun-loving influence on all our lives. She dressed up many an occasion (and many of us) with her handmade costumes, cakes, posters, poems and projects and fostered the artist in all of us. Nancy was born in Lowville, NY, on March 9, 1942, to Eugene Francis Gray and Flora Green Gray. She came from a family of artists and musicians, played the French horn in her high school marching band at Beaver River Central High School in Beaver Falls, NY, and sang on stage and radio as a young woman. She leaves behind several dear high school friends and recently attended her 60thhigh school reunion. Nancy attended Oswego State Teachers College in NY where she studied art. On February 13, 1960, Nancy married Warren Richardson and they moved to Millinocket, ME, where Warren worked at Great Northern Paper Company. Shortly after, they were stationed at Fort Benning, GA, and after a two-year tour in the Army, returned to Millinocket where they raised their family. Nancy and Warren had 7 children and count their one-time exchange student, Cathrine Nymoen from Norway, as an adopted daughter. In 1989, they moved their family to Hattiesburg, MS. After Warren's retirement in 2000, they moved to their current home in Orrington, ME. Nancy is pre-deceased by a son, Todd Gray Richardson; her parents, "Fran" and Flora Gray; and her sister, Doris Dahlgren. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Warren Richardson; daughters, Kim Richardson, Kari Richardson (Mickey Lackey), Tracy Richardson (David Powers), Kristi Munch (Todd Munch), and Jodi Drapeau (Jose Drapeau); son, Allan Richardson (Jennifer Richardson); brothers, Richard Gray (Joan Gray) and James Gray (Becky Gray); grandchildren, Kary Davidson (Jim Davidson), Linwood Bubar (Kate Bubar), Mallory Bubar (Andrew Bailey), Rose Allen, Leah Richardson, Abby Richardson, Erik Richardson and Dominic Drapeau; great-grandchildren, Evan Davidson, Aiden Bubar and Max Bubar; and many nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life at their home at 456 Swetts Pond Road in Orrington, ME, on Saturday, August 10, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Susan G. Komen in Nancy's name. Messages of condolence may be expressed at lamsonfh.com.

May the sweet memories you share serve to bolster you in your time of grief. The Love, the laughs, the smiles shared will in time overcome the sorrow of your loss.
Ever marching forward is time; and each day passed brings us all closer to seeing, in God's glorious Kingdom, our Loved ones, those He blessed us with knowing and loving on this earth .

Until that Glorious Day may you all Love and comfort one another.

Mya our Lord grant you His shalom,

Love Chuck Martin

I can't make blueberry pancakes without thinking of Nancy Richardson. After Tracy's annual slumber parties, she made them for breakfast and they were the best ( and I'm sure without much sleep!). Brian and I send our love and sympathy to you all. Her family must have been her greatest blessing.

So sorry to read of Nancy’s passing. I remember well her creative endeavors. She made a Raggedy Ann doll for me which frightened my then young daughter. As Stage Band mothers we made vests assembly line technique for our kids. Raising 6 kids was a piece of cake for Nancy. She lived it all. My heart goes out to all the family. Pat Russell , Hampden

Butch and I are so happy to have been at one of the class reunion party's, where we saw Nancy and met Warren. It was the first time we saw her since the 1950's. May you find comfort in the memories of her, most generous giving, of herself. Love to all the family Pat & Butch
