Nancy L. Harrington Obituary

Milbridge, Maine - Nancy L. Harrington (Beal), 87, died May 24, 2026, at Maplecrest Rehab and Living Center in Madison. She was born May 9, 1939, in Bangor, the daughter of Malcolm O. and Ethelyn L. (Young) Beal.

Nancy grew up on "the hill" on Wyman Road in Milbridge - the oldest of 12 siblings - and attended Milbridge High School. Nancy married George Harrington of Steuben on December 12, 1959. They were married for 44 years, until George's passing in 2003. Nancy worked for Stinson's Canning Company for nearly 50 years and finished her career working for Maine Fair Trade Lobster, both in Prospect Harbor. Nancy retired when she turned 73. After her retirement she started scrapbooking and quilting with her girls and friends. Nancy loved to read, do word searches, watch the Game Show Network, and always had a puzzle underway at her house. She was a member of Faith Bible Fellowship. She loved to bake for family functions and was famous for her pumpkin rolls at Christmas. She had a signature giggle and could often be overheard saying she was going to "give someone the devil." Nancy loved her family and extended families with her whole heart.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Morgan and her husband, Tex, of Bradford, and Laurie Hall and her husband, Bruce, of Milbridge; grandson, Bruce Hall Jr. and wife, Eileen, of Veazie, and their children, Eleanor and Jolene Nancy; three granddaughters, Laura Lee Hall and her partner, Chris Kittredge, of Milbridge, and their daughter, Aseneth, Lisa Jazowski and husband, Bryan, of Bradford, and her son, William Jennison IV, and Ashlee Gould and husband, Timothy, of Dexter; two brothers, Dale Beal and wife, Valerie, and Patrick Beal and wife, Diane, of Milbridge; two sisters, Libby Joyce and husband, Wayne, of Harrington, and Shelly Phinney of Milbridge; a sister-in-law, Myrtress Harrington of Steuben; and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her parents; husband, George Harrington; a stepson, George Harrington Jr.; a daughter, Diane Huckins Bartlett; brother, Owen Beal and wife, Alice; sisters, Mary Smith and husband, Doug, Joanne Potter and husband, Richard, Delly McLain and husband, Stanley, and Sharon Moore and husband, Marvin.

We wish to acknowledge the wonderful care she received at Maplecrest. The love and attention they gave her over the last few years was above and beyond what we could have hoped for. They became her extended family.

Per Nancy's request, there will be no funeral service. A private celebration of life will be organized at a later date. Gifts in memory of Nancy Harrington can be sent to the Maplecrest Activities Fund in care of: Maplecrest Rehabilitation & Living Center, 174 Main St., Madison, ME 04950.
