GORHAM - GORHAM - Moses S. Lord, 93, of Old Town; Ocala, Fla.; and Gorham, passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at Gorham House. Born Oct. 6, 1916, in Old Town, he was the son of Leslie R. Lord "Pete" and Edith Jordan Lord. He was a graduate of Old Town High School and the University of Maine, Orono, with a degree in chemical engineering. He was employed by Jordan Lumber Co., National Wood Products Co., Brownville, and Bangor Mental Health Institute. He was happiest when he was on a cruise ship or playing his saxophone and clarinet in bands around Greater Bangor and in later years in Ocala, Fla. He was predeceased by his son, Alan Lord; and brothers, Richard C. Lord and Frank Lord. He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Millie Dickinson Lord, residing at Gorham House, Gorham; his son, Roger Lord and daughter-in-law, Judith Lord, also of Gorham; and his grandchildren, Peter and Adam. His family thanks the staff at Gorham House and Beacon Hospice for their compassionate support and care. At his request, there will be no services or visiting hours. Arrangements are by Dolby and Dorr Funeral Chapel, Gorham.
