Hampden, Maine - Michael O. Wedge, 73, died unexpectedly at home on April 13, 2026. He was born February 25, 1953, to George and Freda Wedge of Hampden.

Michael graduated from Hampden Academy, class of 1972, at which time he joined the United States Navy. He served 20-years active duty and 1 year in the Navy Reserve. Michael served aboard many Navy vessels and duty stations. After Mike retired, he was a lifetime member of his local Hampden VFW, Post 4633.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Debra (Romprey) Wedge, are his stepsons, Dean Romprey and his wife, Jennifer, of Fort Wayne, IN, and Keith Romprey and his wife, Darcie, of Milford, ME; two grandsons, Gabriel and Derick Romprey of Milford, ME; one sister, Sheila (Wedge) Bacon and her husband, John, of Winslow, ME. In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by granddaughter, Isabella Romprey.

A small interment service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Hampden on May 27, 2026, at 1 p.m. with The Rev. Carl Schrieber officiating. Those who wish to remember Michael in a special way may make gifts in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
