Bradford, Maine - Melissa Ann Barmore, 35, died in her Bradford , ME home unexpectedly on February 12th 2019. Melissa was born in Manchester, NH on May 4th, 1983 to Karen (Sweeney) and James Barmore.

Melissa fought, and lost, a life long battle with mental illness and substance abuse. We choose to remember Melissa as the bright, happy, funny girl who loved everyone she met. Her heart of gold was discovered at an early age when she always stood up for the underdog. Her smile was just as beautiful as her spirit and we will always remember her for that.

Melissa was predeceased by her father, James Barmore, Uncle Lee Barmore and paternal grandmother, Eva Mendez. She is survived by her children (the loves of her life) daughter Angelina, son Joshua, and boyfriend Joe Pedra, Mother, Karen Sweeney Ploss, Dad of her heart, Bob Ploss, sister Elizabeth Edwards (Cheryl) brothers Johnny (Gabby), Jessie (Meg), and Daniel Barmore, Step sisters Jamie Ploss (Jim) and Rena Lyles (Larry) aunts Tracey Sweeney, Martha Edgar (Brian) and Sharon Bortolameolli (Joe), Linda Sutherland (Billy) and Maryann Paraskevas (Billy) and special aunt who helped raise Melissa Maureen "MoMo" Sweeney (Paddy), uncles Bobby and Zachary Sweeney, Ricky and Glenn Barmore, Anthony Mendez and Mike Ploss. Nieces Erica Dubois, Victoria Michaud, Elsa Edgar, Libbie Whipple, Iris and Esme Barmore, and Elle Edwards. Nephews Michael Alvarez, Thor Barmore and Daniel Barmore and special great nephew Oliver Hopple. Maternal grandparents David and Elsa Roth and Robert Sweeney. Numerous cousins that she had friendships with and so many more friends and people who knew and loved her.

We'd like to take this opportunity to strongly encourage anyone struggling with any mental illness, addiction or substance abuse to keep seeking help. We plead that those who are offered help for any of these issues that you accept it and never give up.

Please join us on Saturday February 16, 2019 2pm at the Bradford Baptist Church 461 Main Road in Bradford followed by a gathering at the community center. A second service will be held for NH family and friends on Tuesday February 19th, 2019 at 11 am at St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St, Manchester, NH, 03102, for a mass and gathering afterwards.
