Bangor and Lincoln, Maine - Maxine Lula (Leary) Lane, 86, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 34 years, Peter J. Lane Sr. Born in Veazie, Maine, Maxine spent most of her life in the Bangor and Lincoln area, and spent her last few months at Westgate in Bangor. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched many lives.

Maxine dedicated her working life to retail, serving customers and building lasting relationships throughout her career in both Lincoln and Bangor, Maine. Her final employment was with Marden's, where she worked for many years and was well known by coworkers and customers alike.

A talented and avid seamstress, Maxine found great joy in creating beautiful and practical items for those she loved. She lovingly made clothing for her children, as well as curtains, table runners, potholders, and countless other handmade treasures. Her creativity, skill, and attention to detail were evident in everything she crafted.

Maxine is survived by her son, Peter J. Lane Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth; her son, Jeffrey L. Lane and Dale Lee; her daughter, Karen and her husband, Addison Furrow; her daughter, Heidi and her husband, Mark Hartin; her sister-in-law, Nadia Brooke; her brother-in-law, Dale Harmon; her cherished grandchildren, Kristy, Jeff Jr., Travis, and BJ; as well as great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, loving heart, creative spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. The memories she created and the love she shared will remain with those who knew her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the team of Westgate Center for Rehabilitation & Alzheimer's Care for the exceptional compassion, kindness, and dedicated care they provided to Miss Maxine throughout her stay. Their support and commitment brought comfort not only to Maxine but also to her family during a difficult time. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Constellation Hospice, especially Tracie and Ally, whose kindness, professionalism, and compassionate care were truly extraordinary. Their support and guidance provided comfort and dignity to Maxine and her loved ones, and their efforts will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Maxine will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
