Max William Hogan Obituary

Monticello, Maine - Max William Hogan, 61, passed away peacefully with his brother at his side April 7, 2025, in Bangor. He was born August 13, 1963, the son of Michael and Linda (DeLong) Hogan.

Max grew up in Monticello and attended Houlton High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the Marine Corps. After his time in the service, Max made his living driving truck. He loved trucking and the solitude of life on the road. In his years in the service and on the road, he was able to visit 47 of the 48 contiguous United States, as well as Alaska. Max will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, riding in the woods of northern Maine, and a knack for irritating people on social media.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Linda (DeLong) Hogan of Monticello; his brother, Travis Hogan and wife, Jill, of Island Falls; sister, Katherine Barnaby of Miramichi, New Brunswick; nieces and nephews, Krayton Hogan, Delaney Greenlaw, and Kayleigh Colford; and his dear friend, uncle, and accomplice in mischief, Harold Hoyt. Max was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Patrice Wotton and Max Hogan; maternal grandparents, Lee and Margaret DeLong; and his beagle, Maggie.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Jewell Bean Cemetery, U.S. Highway 1, Monticello. Relatives and friends are welcome to share conversation and refreshments at the Monticello Fish & Game Club, 82 Russell Rock Rd., Monticello.
