Brunswick, Maine - Mary Haines Wood, age 81, passed peacefully in her sleep, on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Mid Coast Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born in Presque Isle, ME, on August 6, 1936, a daughter of George and Adelaide Burke Haines. She was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1954 and later attended hair stylist school in Boston. She married Arthur Gray in 1955.

For over twenty years, she helped support the family farm while raising her two children. She moved to Bath, ME, in 1979, where she met Wayne Wood. The couple later married in 1981, while she was employed at Senter's Department Store, Brunswick. Mr. Wood died on May 7, 2004.

She is survived by her son, Arthur Gray, Jr., and his wife, Crystal, of Easton; her daughter, Cynthia Gray-Taylor of Cathedral City, CA; three grandchildren, Beth Paradis, Arthur R. Gray, and Breanne Gray, and two great-grandchildren, Jenna and Avery Tompkins.
