Martha Fowler Obituary

Searsport - SEARSPORT - Martha V. Fowler, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at a Sanford hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born April 24, 1929, in Searsport, the daughter of Joseph E. and Rosie M. (Socea) Malo.


Martha enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, reading, playing cards and games and spending time with the family she loved so much. Martha has been a member of the Searsport United Methodist Church since 1954, a member of the ZA Circle of the United Methodist Church, member of the Rebecca's, Granite Grange where she was past master of the grange. She volunteered her time at the Searsport Elementary School Library.


She is survived by her children, Dana Roberts and wife, Maureen, of Port Orange, Fla., Gary Roberts and wife, Mary, of Searsport, and Janice Sullivan of South Portland; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Henry Malo of Belfast, and Robert Malo of Warren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Martha was predeceased by two husbands, Stephen G. Fowler, and Gordon Roberts Sr.; one stepson, Gordon Roberts Jr.; and three brothers, David, Maurice, and James Malo.


Spring interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Searsport. Donations in Martha's memory may be made to Searsport United Methodist Church, P. O.
