Augusta - Mark Josef Snow, age 65, died peacefully on March 26th with his dear friend Dan and his brother by his side. Mark was born in Middletown, Ct, on July 14, 1954, the son of June and Nicholas Snow. He is survived by his brother Jacob and wife Martha, his sister Caitlin and her husband Samuel Clark, and a half dozen nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
Mark grew up in Detroit, Michigan with his three brothers, David, Benjamin and Jacob.
After high school, he spent time in the Marine Corp., advancing to Corporal, later Mark joined the Navy serving in submarines. Mark had many talents, besides a Marine, Mark was a fisherman, comedian, toolmaker, blacksmith, goldsmith, engineer, groundskeeper and artist.
It seemed he could make something beautiful from anything, metal, glass, leather, wood, stone and paint. Did I mention he was a comedian?
Mark was such a kind and giving man that, he would give away his most precious things, (to the chagrin of many), most often to strangers. Keeping that spirit alive we request that, in lieu of flowers, please surprise a stranger with a random act of kindness.
A celebration of Marks life will be announced when we have details, he wished for a party over a funeral and I'm sure we can make that happen.
